Alejandro Durán is a photographer, poet and filmmaker with roots planted in New York and Mexico. His work spans fashion editorial to documenting the natural world, including a portraiture series from his extensive travel throughout Cuba, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Colombia.

With masters degrees in education and poetry from Tufts University and the New School for Social Research, he is a co-founder of The Digital Project, which seeks to improve education through the creative use of technology. He has taught and consulted for organizations such as Columbia University, the International Center of Photography and The Museum of Modern Art.
